*A public event is a gathering where food or beverages are served or personal services are offered to the public. These activities are regulated and are subject to health requirements and approval from the local Health Authority. 

Activities exempt from regulations and guidelines:

• Family functions
• Workplace BBQs
• Club or society private gatherings in which food is prepared or served by voluntary caterers, limited to members of their own organization and invited guests.
